NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Wear Test & Review

Foundation is one of my favorite parts of applying makeup. I love to see all of my acne scars being erased away for the day! I feel like I am always looking for the next best foundation that is full coverage, matte, and long wearing.
The NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop claims to be mattifying, last up to 24 hours, and full coverage. This foundation comes in 45 shades, cost $14.99, and was actually curated with the help of Alissa Ashley on YouTube! The shade I chose is Nutmeg. I applied my normal skincare products (Ole Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Gel Creme & Cane and Austin Prime and Protect Mattifying Primer). I initially used a damp beauty sponge to apply the foundation on one side of my face. The first thing I noticed was how matte the formula was which is great because my skin is super oily. I also liked how the product did not feel super heavy. The foundation claims to be full coverage but I could still see my acne scars peaking through while using a beauty sponge. I switched to a brush to go over the side I used with a beauty sponge and on the other side of my face and all my scars were covered up and my skin looked really smooth. The foundation is super matte so I lightly set it with a translucent powder to prevent looking so dry. Below is a video right after I applied the foundation:

For the purposes of this wear test I did not blot the entire day. I normally have to blot my face after two hours. During the first couple of hours the foundation looked like I just applied it, so on a normal day it would not have even necessary to blot!

After five hours with the foundation on, I noticed my skin still  looked as smooth as the first few hours but it was starting to look slightly dewy. Again, I did not blot even though it was so hard not to! I usually see creasing around my mouth due to my smile lines after wearing a foundation for this long but there was VERY minimal creasing! The last thing I noticed during this check in was some of my acne scars on my cheeks that are super dark were peaking through slightly. I did have a nap and I tried my hardest to sleep on a my back but I might have rubbed my face so I wouldn't fault the foundation for this.

My final check in after 9 hours of wearing the foundation was still to my surprise excellent! I did look pretty dewy but it wasn't too crazy especially considering I did not blot throughout the entire day. I noticed some of the foundation on my face was starting to wear off. At this point, I think some of the foundation naturally wore off but it looked a little worse because I more than likely rubbed some off during my nap earlier in the day.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This might be the most matte foundation I have ever tried. The amount of shine I had at my 9 hour check in is usually how much shine I have after a few hours of wearing another foundation. I highly recommend moisturizing prior to applying this product because of how matte it is. I think the best way to apply this foundation is with a brush. A beauty sponge sheers out the formula too much making it medium coverage. I also recommend setting this foundation lightly setting the foundation to prevent looking dry. I don't think the 24 hour wear claim is very true because I did notice in my final check in some of the foundation wore off. But honestly, a 24 hour wear is a huge claim and expectation and I personally do not wear makeup for that long. Overall, this foundation really impressed me and for the price you can't beat it. I can tell this product is going to be in heavy rotation, especially for the spring/summer.
