October Hits and Misses 2018

I can't believe it is already November! Where has this year gone?! To think there is only two months left of 2018 is nuts. October was an odd month for me makeup wise. I purchased so many new products but I had little to no time to try anything; and when I did try something it was a complete fail! Because of this, I gravitated towards my holy grail products that I knew worked great.

My first hit product for the month of October is the KKW Beauty Powder Contour & Highlight Palette in the shade Dark/Deep Dark. I fell in love with this product when it was released last year. Kim Kardashian and her team really did a great job with the formula and shades of this product. The contour and bronzer shades are super pigmented (use sparingly!) and blend effortlessly on the skin. The bronzer shade is my favorite because it looks so beautiful on my skin tone. The highlighter shades are not super blinding like I prefer but are great for an everyday makeup look. KKW Beauty recently launched powder contour singles which is a great option to pick and choose a shade or two instead of committing to four. I highly recommend this product!

Another hit for me was the Kylie X Jordyn Pressed Powder Highlighter Palette.  I have not been able to put this product down since I reviewed it last month. Check out why I love this product here.

Makeup Revolution has really impressed me this year. Every product I have tried from the brand has had extremely great quality for an affordable price. I purchased their highlighter palette in collaboration with SophX earlier this month for $12. OMG! This palette is everything! It has five baked and three pressed highlighters. The pressed shades go on the skin like a glow from within and the baked shades are blinding af. Girl, you NEED this!

My final hit is the KKW Beauty Concealer in the shade number 11. I, again, bought this when it came out awhile ago and was not impressed with it. I revisited this product mid October and fell in love with the formula. It is not too thick but also not too runny. The coverage is also amazing and gives my dark circles the TLC it needs. I will say I think the amount of product you get is a bit disappointing.

The Maybelline Soda Pop Palette was a complete fail for me. The palette is beautiful but I had trouble with most of the shadows. Both the matte and shimmer shades had very little color pay off and needed to be layered a few times in order to see anything. The only shade that applied great was the purple shade called 'Grape Pop'.  If you are looking for an affordable eyeshadow palette, I recommend E.L.F. eyeshadows. They are pigmented, blend great, and are cheaper than most drugstore brands.

Happy November!
